December Income Report

Every month I will be documenting my income from all of my side hustles. As I am just starting out some (more like all) of these amounts will be very little or even nothing. In full future me style though I’m going to include things that I may not even be doing yet because I know that in the future these things will be bringing in an income.

Rideshare Income $0.00

So, I’m going to be completely honest here, I’m probably not going to start driving again anytime soon.

There is a lot of reasons going into it, and I’ll probably write about it soon. I still think this is an amazing way to make money, especially if you need some quick.

That being said, I’m probably not going out anytime soon.

 Blog Income $0.00

Yet again nothing new here. I’m trying a few new things when it comes to sponsored posts to basically pay the bills here.

I’d rather have affiliate sales because that helps not just me but my audience too.

I plan on doing much more of it in the future but as for now, I’ll take what I can get.

Freelance Income $3,804.55

What a difference a year can make. I made a few hundred dollars freelancing last year, and really up until 6 months ago.

This is mostly from one client that I work with and run the sponsored posts and other things as well.

It takes a lot of time but is worth it, and best of all I can work from home, or anywhere else for that matter.

Amazon FBA Income $2936.10 Cost $2172.40

So I learned a few things with Amazon this month I didn’t already know.

First, quarter 4 is just as great as I remember. I had one day of nearly $2,000 in sales which was amazing.

Second, I need to make sure that all cards and bank accounts linked to Amazon are up to date.

I had around $11,000 in sales for the month of December with about $8,000 of that suppose as my portion.

The issue is that I had a credit card tied to my account that had expired without me knowing. Because of that Amazon withheld my payment and I won’t get it until January.

A minor inconvenience really in the big picture as I will get the money, just not in 2017.

Misc. Income $28.50

I’ve done nothing and made over a hundred dollars. What else can I say about that, it feels amazing.

Wrap Up

Monthly Income Needed:$3,000
Side Income Total:$6,769.15
Difference: +$3,769.15
YOY Increase: $3709.28 or 221.22%

So hit my goal by a lot. More than double my goal and what I made last year.

What’s really funny to me is had that Amazon issue not happened I would have hit 5 figures this month.

The payment I was going to get would have brought my income to $10,053.72.

On top of that, I had a freelance payment delayed until January which would have increased my monthly income to $11,353.72.

So, a few takeaways from that.

First, don’t put yourself in a position where you need the money from the business.

I have spent time and budgeted so that the money I make this month pays for next month.

Really if you break it down the money I make this month pays for 5 months from now as I have a 5-month buffer.

Second, keep up to date on your business. If I had an updated credit card on file this wouldn’t have happened. A simple mistake that won’t have any negative lasting effects.

Next Month
