June Income Report

Every month I will be documenting my income from all of my side hustles. As I am just starting out some (more like all) of these amounts will be very little or even nothing. In full future me style though I’m going to include things that I may not even be doing yet because I know that in the future these things will be bringing in an income.

Rideshare Income $20, Miles Driven 0  ,Time 0 Hours

Oh how the mighty have fallen, this at one time was my largest income. It has since become something that I don’t do nearly as much as I strive to grow my blog audience, and work on Amazon.

In fact the month of June I didn’t go out driving once, I simply gave out a referral code to a friend that wanted to start using it and made the income you see.

The cool thing about that is that I didn’t actually have to do any work to make that money, I simply sent a text message and made it. I would say it took about 30 seconds to send and made me $20, so if you were making that into an hourly rate it would be $2400 an hour.

Not bad, and I hope to do more referrals in the future through some advertising and this blog but not a big push for me right now.

 Blog Income $0.00

No one is clicking on my affiliate links, I’m not upset about it I’ve kind of just spread them throughout the site in random places whenever I’m talking about something.

I did add a banner on every page now for site ground which is the same hosting  I use for this site I highly reccommend it as it has been very easy to use. If you would like to start a website click here.

Freelance Income $47.44

This to me is the one I REALLY want to grow, I have one client and am extremely happy with that but I would love to have at least 1 more client by the end of the month.

I added a “hire me” page, I have been active in FB groups as well as had a guest post go out. But still nothing, what I’m going to do is focus on this in the coming months. I think that if I focus on it, and get serious, then I should be able to increase this stream of income to rival even the amazon sales.

If you have any suggestions or maybe a freelance opportunity that you have please let me know by contacting me at tjphilbrook@gmail.com.

Amazon FBA Income $1201.01

My highest earner to date, this has enabled me to make massive steps forward on paying down my debt. I laid out how I do this and that has been a good way people have been finding the blog.

This may become my new “9 to 5” well I try to grow my freelance business but even if that does happen, this isn’t a bad gig at all.

I spent $915.15 on merchandise in the month of June making 31.2% profit. This number is a bit misleading only because of how the income comes in.

I include the spending all the way up to the last day of the month, however the payments are only what actually hit my bank account the last of which did so on the 23rd of the month. With that all of the sales from the 24th through the 7th of July go on July’s first payment.

This isn’t a perfect way of explaining how much income I am making from Amazon, but it should help give you the picture.

Misc. Income $124.5

Random income stream that I haven’t discussed openly on the blog yet.

Wrap Up

My ultimate goal is to get all of the side income to match or surpass mine and my wife’s current 9 to 5 incomes.

Monthly Income Needed: $3,000
Side Income Total: $1392.95
Difference: $1607.05

46.4% to meeting this goal. Mind you this goal isn’t just to make it so I don’t have to work anymore other than on these, bu that my wife also doesn’t have to.

If things keep going the way they are I may be able to leave mine before the end of this year.

Next Month

For July, I have the first week off, and plan on getting the entire months writing done so that I don’t have to stress about it all month. I’m going to plan out my posts and topics so I know what I’m talking about before I sit down to write.

I recently had a post go viral, with over 2.5k shares, check it out here. It’s a list post on how to make money through hobbies.

I have been trying to stay away from list posts but now I think I will try to do one a month such as 10 ways to save money, 15 ways to increase your income, 7 ways to become a better cook and save money.

I literally just made all of those up on the spot so don’t expect those specific one’s but posts like that.

How was your month? Did you make as much as you had anticipated? What are you going to do differently this month to make sure you become the “future me”? Commit to it now by telling us in the comments bellow.

    1. Lol, yea Bill they are. I have been hustling so much the month of July I can’t even keep things straight anymore. The amazon numbers for July will be very messed up because I spent WAY more on merchandise than I received in payments. Anyway June was awesome and I’m looking forward to many many more.

    1. Thanks Pia! I wouldn’t say that its a “success” yet, in fact most days I feel it’s not doing well but I can see the potential of it. It’s a lot of work and takes time until you have a constant flow of cash coming back right now it’s more putting money into it than it is getting money out.

    1. Yea I think if you go back to my first income report it was around $300 and the majority was driving for lyft (a very active side hustle) now the majority of the income is coming from Amazon which though requires money and time it doesn’t require as much active attention.

  1. Congrats on that income as well as having a post go viral! Those are both awesome. I have been hearing more and more about selling on Amazon. I just recently started adding more affiliate links to my blog and I haven’t made much either. We will get there though!

    1. It’s all about being consistent and patient. I have a long way to go. What I remind myself is those who I look up to doing the same things didn’t start doing as well as they are now they started in similar situations to me and worked hard.

  2. Great job on the sales again, even if you are down again. I ve always struggled with advertising because I don t like the feeling of not guaranteeing that my money being spent is going to produce results. Let us know how it goes for you
